Professional Bio of Mark Spicoluk

Mark Spicoluk is the co-founder & co-creator of Boho Beautiful, a conscious media brand that creates positive content for body, mind, and Earth.

Called to yogic service, Mark and his wife, Juliana Spicoluk, have designed, produced, and published the entire Boho Beautiful library of 1000’s of hours of yoga & fitness practices, guided meditations, and video content promoting veganism, self-awareness, and conscious living.

As partners & parents to their one-year old son, they’ve managed to grow Boho Beautiful to over 2.5 million subscribers, 425,000+ followers on Instagram, and 140,000+ on Facebook. All the while, they’ve cultivated an intimate community of tens of thousands through an exclusive subscription platform known as ‘Boho Beautiful Official’. With a lifetime view count of 370 million+, the Boho Beautiful YouTube channel reaches nearly 7 million viewers each month. To date, Mark has shot and produced nearly the entire video content catalog that the brand has released.

Born in Edmonton and raised over Canada from St. Albert Alta to St. John’s Newfoundland to Hay River Northwest Territory, Mark eventually spent his teenage years in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. There he cultivated a competitive hockey career & lifelong passion for music.

At the age of 17, Mark started a record label called Underground Operations, which he operated out of his mother's basement while playing in and promoting his anarcho-political punk band, Closet Monster. Touring throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe nearly a decade, his band released records in 12 countries. Beginning his career as a guitar player, he became one of Sum41s early bass players and grew into a multi-instrumental musician.

While running a recording studio in Toronto where he produced all of his label’s first albums, he took the role of Avril Lavigne’s first bass player. After the launch of her inaugural record, Let’s Go, her first music videos, and all of her early live & television performances, he left to return to his band and label where he went on to release records for dozens of artists.

Midway through his career overseeing Underground Operations, he was recruited by Universal Music Canada to their A&R department. After four years of consecutive promotions, Mark became their youngest Head Of A&R, running the creative department for the majority of Canada’s largest musical acts. It was there he discovered, signed, and produced dozens of artists, working under Gene Simmons to help start the now defunct Simmons Records. He was also cast as a television personality and judge for two seasons of Much Music’s Disband as well as three seasons of YTV’s Next Star.

In 2011, for the second time, he abruptly departed his position in search of a deeper purpose. It was then that he and Juliana began their path towards a deeper life of service, spiritual exploration, and self-destined independent creativity. The journey into yoga and Boho Beautiful began in earnest.

Mark has since acquired his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification in India, logged over 10,000 hours in video production, produced thousands of hours of content, studied mindfulness and Buddhism in Nepal at a Tibetan Monastery, and wandered the world to expand his inner and outer experience. He continues to deepen his journey as both a disciple of yoga and of creativity via courses, teachers, friends, and healers.

Since becoming a father, however, Mark’s greatest teacher, Guru, and spiritual guide is his beautiful boy, the little light warrior, Xavian Lionheart Spicoluk.
